From 27 July to 6 August 2021, WHO Regional Office for Africa representatives visited the Senegal National Centre with the aim of creating an opportunity for direct interactions with key stakeholders and the National Health Observatory in Senegal including the Ministère de la Santé et L’action Scociale and the WHO country office in Senegal. The objective was to establish relationships that are essential for the progress of the platform’s mission.

The main objectives of this visit were to:

• Discuss developments on the National Health Observatory (NHO) with the WHO team and the Ministry of Health,
• To exchange on the AHOP and the interactions between the National Centre and the Office of National Statistics focal point at the Ministry of Health,
• Visit the AHOP National Centre and exchange on the collaboration framework with the country office and the Ministry of Health,
• Discuss the evolution of the main expected results of the AHOP and their positioning/appropriation at the national level with the decision makers.

At the end of this visit, next steps were highlighted, lessons learned and feedback on collaboration with the Ministry of Health were shared.
