The AHOP National Centre – the University of Rwanda’s School of Public Health convened an introductory meeting to discuss collaboration with the Rwandan Ministry of Health, the AHOP platform, and the WHO Country Office in Rwanda.
The meeting was the first planned in a series to strengthen collaborative links with all partners involved and to align future activities. Prof Aline UMUBYEYI, the principal investigator of the AHOP National Centre in Rwanda, provided a background of the center and its objectives and mission. She further presented the completed activities since the inception of the platform and the establishment of the center in November 2019.
The National Centre set out a number of different thematic areas that will form the basis of future collaborations with the Ministry, including Rwanda’s health systems resilience under Covid-19 – the challenges and lessons learned; ensuring sustainable financing for equitable service delivery, and health worker retention.
